Sugarcraft covers a wide range of techniques, including cake decoration with royal icing or sugarpaste, modeling, chocolate, marzipan and sugar flowers.
Members of Cork Sugarcraft Association meet on the last Tuesday of each month at Canon Packham Hall, Douglas, Cork, from 7.45pm to 9.30pm.
The monthly meetings include a demonstration on specific aspects of Sugarcraft.
Some meetings are run as workshops, which give members an opportunity to develop skill in various techniques.
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in any aspect of Sugarcraft and the association’s membership ranges from complete beginners to full-time professionals. The annual membership is €30.
Visitors are always welcome – €10 fee on the night – so why not join and enjoy the perks of membership!
The association has an excellent range of books and videos on all aspects of Sugarcraft, which members can borrow.
Once or twice a year we organise a weekend workshop with a visiting tutor in order to develop our skills further.
Every two years we hold a National Competition & Exhibition with classes to cater for all abilities from beginners to masterclass in a range of categories. The venue is the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa in Little Island: www.radissonblu.ie/hotel-cork
